The results of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana elections have been declared. A total of 23 candidates, including 5 women, have been elected as members.
The voting was held on March 17–18, and after 41 days of counting, the results were officially announced by Election Officer, retired Justice Jai Shree Thakur.
As per the orders of the Supreme Court, two additional women advocates will be selected and appointed as members of the Bar Council. With this, the entire election process will be considered complete.
In the elections, a total of 81,069 votes were cast. Out of these, 1,456 votes were declared invalid, while 79,613 votes were found to be valid.
Elected Members: Suvir Sidhu, Karanjit Singh, Ajay Chaudhary, Minderjit Yadav, Rajendra Juneja, Gurtej Singh Grewal, Pradhuman Garg, Pravesh Yadav, Pradeep Parmar, Pratap Singh, Amit Rana, Harpreet Singh Multani, Vijender Singh Ahlawat, Karamjit Singh, Rajat Gautam, Rakesh Gupta, Neeraj Shyoran, and Dayal Pratap Singh Randhawa.
Female Members: Anjali Sehrawat, Sunita Kalsan, Amarjit Kaur, Rajni Nanda, and Sharmila Sharma.
