In a commendable initiative towards environmental conservation, the Rotary Club Sriganganagar City, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF) 48th Battalion, organized a significant tree plantation drive at the BSF campus on Padampur Road. The event saw enthusiastic participation from BSF personnel, Rotary Club members, and community volunteers, who collectively planted 610 fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings using the innovative Miyawaki technique to create a man-made forest.

Under the leadership of Rotary Club City President Rotarian Sanjay Agarwal and Project Chairman Vishav Bandhu Gupta, the initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and contribute to a greener future. The Miyawaki method, known for its ability to foster dense, fast-growing, and biodiverse forests, was employed to ensure the sustainability and ecological impact of the plantation.

The event was graced by the active involvement of BSF officials, including Commandant Suresh Kumar, Second-in-Command Deepak, Deputy Commandant Satyanarain, Ramveer Dhiraj Kullu, and Assistant Inspector Ramphal, along with numerous BSF jawans.

Rotary Club President Sanjay Agarwal emphasized the Rotary Club’s motto, “Service Above Self,” and urged continued support for such social and environmental endeavours in the future. Secretary Saurabh Goyal described the event as a reflection of Rotary’s commitment to social responsibility.

The organisers issued a heartfelt appeal to the citizens of Sriganganagar to take small but meaningful steps towards environmental conservation.
