Vikram Ditya/Ferozepur
In a world where people often weigh every request against personal convenience, a young social worker from this border town has earned a unique identity — the “YES Man.”.
The title has not been bestowed by any organisation but by the countless people whose lives he has touched through his selfless service. The reason is simple: when someone approaches him for help, his answer is rarely “No.” For Vipul Narang (39), this is the biggest achievement of his life.
Over the years, Vipul Narang has quietly built a reputation as one of the district’s most active and dependable social workers. Whether it is arranging medical assistance for underprivileged children, supporting special-needs students, helping families in distress, donating blood, promoting eye-care initiatives, assisting accident victims, or extending financial support to the needy, he has consistently stepped forward whenever help was required.
His efforts have particularly focused on children and vulnerable sections of society. Through collaborations with schools, social organisations, healthcare institutions and voluntary groups, he has facilitated eye check-up camps, distributed essential medical equipment, provided educational support, and worked towards improving the quality of life of differently-abled children. He has also remained actively associated with blood donation drives and humanitarian initiatives, earning appreciation from various social, administrative and humanitarian organisations.
The impact of his work has not gone unnoticed. From being honoured by the Governor of Punjab to receiving recognition from senior police officers, social organisations and public institutions, Vipul Narang has been acknowledged on numerous occasions for his commitment to public service. Yet those who know him say that awards and accolades have never been his motivation.
For Vipul, social service is not an occasional activity but a way of life. In an age often defined by self-interest, his willingness to answer every genuine call for help with a simple “Yes” continues to inspire many. It is this spirit of compassion, accessibility and action that has made him not just a social worker, but the “YES Man” of Ferozepur.
Ashok Behal, former Red Cross Secretary said that Vipul is like a bliss for Ferozepur. “He always helps with a smile and never let other people know what he has done for someone. He is always humble and kind”, said Behal.
