The Court of Special Judge, for CBI cases, Jaipur, on Wednesday has convicted and sentenced Rajesh Kumar Bansal, the then Telecom District Manager and M.L. Bansal, Junior Accounts Officer (Retd.),both from BSNL, Bharatpur, Rajasthan, to 04 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) along with a fine of Rs. 50,000/- eachin a bribery case.

CBI had registered the instant case on 06.04.2017, on allegations that the accused Shri Rajesh Kumar Bansal demanded a bribe of Rs. 1.20 lakh, through accused Shri M. L. Bansal, from the complainant, in lieu of releasing payment of Rs. 60 lakh (approx.) against a pending bill related to a tender work.

CBI laid a trap and caught Shri Rajesh Kumar Bansal red-handed, while accepting Rs. 1,00,000/- as bribe from the complainant along with Sh. M.L. Bansal. The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the accused Rajesh Kumar Bansal by the CBI team.

After investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet on 22.09.2017 against both the accused persons.

After trial, the Court found merit in the charges against the accused persons and convicted/sentenced them accordingly.
