The Sanyukta Kisan Morcha has started indefinite dharna under the Sadhuwali National Highway Bharatmala flyover demanding full water in the Gang Canal.
Those who sat on dharna include Subhash Sehgal, Amar Singh Bishnoi, Sukhbir Singh Fauji, Manohar Lal Bishnoi, Jaswinder Singh Mohanpura, Radhey Shyam Bishnoi, Ram Chander and Arshdeep.
(SUBHEAD)Sehgal said that for the last 2 months, the farmers have been agitating for the demand of uninterrupted full water. The Rajasthan government has so far slept, the district administration and irrigation department were trying to create a divide between the farmers' organizations.
He said that farmers were suffering a lot. We can't wait anymore now. The protest will continue till full water receipt is ensured in Gang Canal at the entry point to Sriganganagar district. At present receipt was half of the water that was reportedly released from the Harike Barrage.
