The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an absconding accused Harsh Sharma onm Friday in connection with an 8 years old case related to Housing Loan Fraud in connivance with the builder. Accused Harsh Sharma had not joined the investigation and remained absconding since the registration of the case on 02.08.2017.
Investigation revealed that Harsh Sharma had entered into a criminal conspiracy with the builder M/s Shree Balaji Hitech Construction Pvt. Ltd. and supplied KYC documents based on which the lender bank Punjab National Bank was induced to disburse housing loan to the builder. The accused was one of the bogus buyers of a flat which was sold on paper to multiple bogus buyers to secure loan from the bank. CBI had filed charge sheet in the Hon’ble Court of Special Judicial Magistrate (CBI), Ghaziabad on 19.03.2024, in the case.
Hon’ble Court had issued Non Bailable Warrant against the accused. After strenuous efforts to locate the accused, CBI team has executed Non Bailable Warrant today morning and arrested the absconding accused. He was produced before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judicial Magistrate (CBI), Ghaziabad who has ordered his Judicial Custody till 15.07.2025.
Investigation is continuing.
