CHANDIGARH OPERATION CELL POLICE    SUCCEEDED IN BUSTING AN INTERNATIONAL AND INTER-STATE GANGSTER AND ILLEGAL WEAPONS SUPPLYING SYNDICATE.

• ONE ARMS SMUGGLER WAS ARRESTED FOR BEING IN CONTACT WITH PAK-NATIONAL WEAPON SUPPLIER AND
FOR RECEIVING ILLEGAL WEAPON FROM CROSS-BORDER THROUGH DRONE • THREE OPERATIVES OF THE DEEPAK NANDAL GANG WERE ARRESTED WHO RECEIVED THE WEAPON CONSIGNMENT. • 03 SOPHISTICATED PISTOLS WERE RECOVERED, INCLUDING ONE ZIGANA PISTOL, TWO PX3 PISTOLS ALONG WITH TWO MAGAZINES AND 19 LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED (ALL OF .30 BORE). • CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY HATCHED BY DEEPAK NANDAL WAS FOILED.

A team of Operation cell of Chandigarh police succeeded in dismantling a module of organized crime. As per the directions of Sh. Rajeev Ranjan IPS, DIG, UT Chandigarh  and Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal IPS, UT, Chandigarh, under the close guidance of Sh. Ranjodh Singh, DSP Operations and under the supervision of Insp Satvinder, a major success was achieved in busting a module of foreign based gangster Deepak Nandal.

Three operatives and one Pakistan-backed arms smuggler were apprehended along with foreign-made sophisticated weapons, thereby thwarting the criminal conspiracy.

Police said, on  dated 03.08.2026, a team of operation cell led by ASI Keshav along with police party was patrolling in security scenario of the upcoming Independence Day-2026. During patrolling on suspicion basis 3 young boys were apprehended namely Ajay, Rohit and Dev. During a cursory search, two sophisticated foreign made pistols, including Zigana pistol and China made PX3 pistol, along with one magazine and eleven live cartridges were recovered from their possession. They were arrested. During further investigation inter-state raids were conducted and the main weapon supplier namely Nishan Singh who was in touch with cross-border Pak smuggler was also arrested.

A case FIR No. 123 dated 04.08.2026 U/S 25/54/59 Arms Act, PS 31 UT Chd was got registered and all four accused persons were arrested.

INVESTIGATION: On investigation, it was established that all the three  arrested accused namely Ajay, Rohit and Dev were groomed by  foreign based gangster Deepak Nandal by luring them huge amount of money. Deepak Nandal was in touch with Pakweapon supplier and managed to receive the weapon delivery through Nishan to his associates Ajay, Rohit and Dev.

From interrogation, it came on record that all the three accused and Deepak Nandal were hatching a criminal conspiracy for extortion and were about to commit an incident of firing. Recce  of the target was already conducted by the three accused in Gurugram, Haryana. The contact between Deepak Nadal and  Ajay, Rohit, Dev was got established by Arun, a local resident of Sonipat district who is presently working in UAE.

KNOW THE ACCUSED:  Ajay S/o Raj kumar village Nidani , District Jind, Haryana. Age 19.5 years. He was living with his maternal grandmother at Village Silana, Haryana and working as helper in Maruti company and earning 15 thousand rupees.
He acted as the primary connector between the foreignbased gangster network and his associates. He conducted the recce of the identified target on the direction of Deepak  Nandal and remained involved in coordinating the movement and receipt of illegal weapons.Educational qualification – 09th pass.

MODUS OPERANDI:  He initially established contact with Gangster Deepak Nandal through a foreign- based associate
using social media platforms. He allegedly introduced Rohit and Dev to the gang and coordinated with them regarding
instructions received form the gang. Recovery- One black-coloured Zigana pistol loaded with five live cartridges

Rohit S/o Amarnath, R/o Village Nidani, District Jind, Haryana Age 18.5 Years He was living with his mother and working
in electric shop and earning 10 thousand rupees. Ajay facilitated a connection between him and Deepak Nandal’s gang. He also participated in the recce of the intended target and was part of the group tasked with executing the planned criminal activity. He studied upto ninth class.

He remained in communication with gang members for receiving instructions relating to recce, movement and execution of assigned criminal activities. Recovery- One PX3 pistol (Made in China) loaded with four live cartridges.

Dev S/o Om Parkash, R/o Gali No. 14, Vishwakarma Colony, District Jind, Haryana Age 18.5 Years He belongs to Vishwakarma Colony District Jind and working as helper in shop and earning 7 thousand rupees. Ajay facilitated a connection between Deepak
Nandal’s gang and Dev. He participated in recce activities and was part of the group preparing to execute the planned
criminal conspiracy. He also studied upto 9th class.

He was introduced to the gang through Ajay and remained in contact with gang members for receiving directions and coordinating with the other accused. Recovery- One black-coloured magazine containing two live cartridges.

Nishan Singh S/o Sh. Surta Singh R/o Village- Kakar, Amritsar, Punjab, age-32 yrs He is resident of village Kakar,
situated at border in Amritsar and runs a dairy in his village. He acted as an intermediary for receiving and delivering
illegal firearms and ammunition to the ground-level operatives. He studied upto  12th class

Modus Operandi: He had established contact with a person based in Pakistan and received illegal weapon consignments in his own agriculture land via drone through the cross-border network. He facilitated the onward supply of these weapons to associates of gangsters operating from abroad. Recovery- One PX3 pistol (Made in China) along with one magazine loaded with 08 live cartridges.

As per the direction of Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda W/DGP, Chandigarh Police, Chandigarh Police remains firmly committed to a zero-tolerance policy against illegal arms and organised crime.
