At a well-attended meeting organised at Punjab Palace here, PU graduates and other social activists appreciated the DAV College Managing Committee (DAVCMC), one of India’s largest non-governmental educational organizations, for considering Dr Gurraj Singh Chahal, a retired teacher in the Panjab University Senate Elections-2026.
Campaign Committee convener Dr Rajesh Kumar Mahajan, principal, DAV College, Dr Vijay Grover, officiating principal, DAV College of Education, Dr Iqbal Singh Godara, former principal GN Khalsa College Sriganganagar, Prof, JL Aggarwal, Smita Sharma, principal, LRS DAV Sr Sec Model School, Prof Chander Prakash from DAV College Gidderbaha were among the speakers who addressed the elite gathering. Stage was conducted by Prof. Sanjeev Gumber. All were of the view that the DAVCMC has won many hearts by finding a former teacher from the DAV College to represent the region in the PU Senate.
It was recalled that Dr. Chahal had emerged as one of the most talented teachers who had been prominently working to promote literature, extra mural activities besides taking the cause of deserving and needy students throughout his service in the DAV College here. It was surprising that he got PhD degree just three months before superannuation of service as HoD Punjabi Department in the DAV College here. Those present in the informal meeting overwhelmingly assured to support Dr Chahal to facilitate his win.
