A man working as a farm watchman died under suspicious circumstances last night in Dhaba Kokrian village, Abohar. According to reports, Babu Ram (45), a native of Uttar Pradesh, had been guarding an agricultural farm for several years. This morning, when other farm laborers arrived to work in the fields and orchard, they found Babu Ram lying dead outside the orchard and informed the farm owners. The deceased had been living there alone for a long time, and there is no information regarding his family members.
The body of a young man was found near the bus stand at village Chak 23-Z on the Sri Ganganagar-Sri Karanpur Bharatmala Project road. Police identified the deceased as Nirmal Singh (42), a resident of Chak 21-Z. A case has been registered based on a report filed by his brother-in-law, Baljit Singh (60). Nirmal Singh’s body was handed over to his family following a post-mortem examination today.
A young man from Kotha Pakki village died in a road accident. According to the police, Vipin Arora (38), a resident of Kotha Pakki, had been admitted to a hospital in Sri Ganganagar in critical condition; he passed away this morning. Police and family members reported that Vipin Arora was riding his motorcycle along the Kandhwala road in Abohar yesterday. His motorcycle reportedly collided with a road divider after being hit by another vehicle.
A motorcyclist died and his brother was injured after being struck by an unidentified vehicle on the Sri Vijayanagar road. Police stated that Gopi Ram (57) and his brother Ram Chander—residents of Ramji Wala—were injured when their motorcycle was struck by a vehicle. Bystanders rushed them to the government hospital. Due to his critical condition, Gopi Ram was referred to Sri Ganganagar, where he passed away during treatment.
An elderly man died after being struck by a train. The deceased has been identified as Jeet Singh (65) of Chak Maharajka. He was reportedly crossing the railway tracks near Chak 2-BGS Bhagsar last evening when the accident occurred.
Last night, near Sukhchain village, a pickup truck loaded with drums of paint collided with the road divider. The driver, Jagrup Singh, narrowly escaped the accident. Villagers have accused the PWD and toll management of negligence, citing the lack of functional street lights and reflectors on the divider as the cause of the accident.
