CM HOLDS REVIEW MEETING WITH OFFICERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MINES AND GEOLOGY, DIRECTIONS ISSUED FOR RECOVERY OF OUTSTANDING DUES FROM VARIOUS MINING AGENCIES

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has issued strict directives to the officers of the Department of Mines and Geology to completely curb illegal mining in the state. He instructed that CCTV cameras be installed in mining areas and regular monitoring be ensured. Strict action must be taken against anyone found involved in illegal mining.
(MOREPIC1) The Chief Minister gave these directions while presiding over a review meeting with the officers of the Department of Mines and Geology here on Monday. Mines and Geology Minister Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar was also present during the meeting.
The Chief Minister emphasized that to ensure timely revenue receipts by the state government from mining agencies, the recovery of outstanding dues should be completed within the next three months. Simultaneously, patrolling and surveillance activities should be intensified to completely eliminate illegal mining.
He said that the department has set a revenue target of Rs 1,400 crore for the financial year 2025–26, and all necessary steps must be taken to achieve this goal. He issued strict instructions that no mining agency should have even a month's dues pending. In case of pending dues, a notice must be issued to the agency, and if they still fail to deposit the amount, appropriate action should be taken.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister also directed the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the reasons for suspended mines and recommend further action. Additionally, he instructed that processes related to mines that have already been auctioned but have not yet started operations should be completed promptly.
During the meeting, Commissioner and Secretary, Mines and Geology Department, Sh. T.L. Satyaprakash, briefed about the department’s functioning and informed that constant monitoring is being carried out to prevent illegal mining. From April 1, 2024, to June 11, 2025, a total of 3,274 vehicles involved in illegal mining were seized, and penalties amounting to Rs 13.50 crore were recovered from them.
Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
