This year’s theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” highlighted the interconnectedness of personal well-being and planetary health. The theme underscored how yoga not only nurtures individual physical and mental health but also encourages a more mindful and sustainable way of living in harmony with nature.

(MOREPIC1)(MOREPIC2)The primary objective of the session was to promote a balanced approach to wellness by integrating the body, mind and spirit. Col. Singh emphasized the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life highlighting that even a brief routine of 3 minutes of regular scientific asana practice can significantly contribute to a happier and stress-free lifestyle.

Dr. Rajesh Grover, Director Science City who was present on the occasion stated that amidst the increasing distractions and stress of modern life, yoga can be effective in reducing stress, improving mental well-being, and enhancing overall physical health. Like other forms of physical exercise, yoga helps build muscle strength, increase flexibility, boost endurance and improve the functioning of internal organs. He further added that being less strenuous, yoga is safer and more accessible for people of all age groups. Dr. Grover also emphasized that such sessions not only promote physical fitness but also help develop self-discipline and inner peace.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Dr. Munish Soin, Scientist D stated that yoga has now gained global recognition and is increasingly being adopted in schools, workplaces and communities for its holistic benefits. Further, the goals of the Fit India Movement cannot be fully achieved without incorporating yoga into daily life as it plays a vital role in nurturing a healthy and balanced lifestyle, he added.

The session aimed to provide participants with hands-on exposure to basic three-minute yogic practices and meditation techniques.
