Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate for Ludhiana (West) and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora exercised his franchise early Thursday morning at the polling station set up at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar. Accompanied by his family — wife Sandya Arora, son Kavya Arora, daughter Ketki Arora, and daughter-in-law Guneet Arora — Arora appeared upbeat and confident as he stepped out after voting.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, Arora shared that he had begun his day with spiritual visits to seek divine blessings. He visited the Dargah at Phillaur Fort, Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib, and Durga Mata Mandir near Jagraon Bridge before heading to the polling booth. “It gives me immense satisfaction to have voted for the development of Ludhiana. My campaign was centered around progress, and I am confident that the voters have understood and appreciated that vision,” he said.
(SUBHEAD)Reflecting on his 100-day election campaign, Arora described the public response as “overwhelming and deeply encouraging.” He expressed gratitude to the people of the Ludhiana (West) constituency, saying their support has given him the assurance of a comfortable victory. “The passion with which electorates have turned up to vote today shows they are determined to bring positive change and development to the city,” he added.
Arora emphasized the importance of voter participation in strengthening democracy. “Every vote counts. I urge each citizen to come forward and vote — it is not just a right but a responsibility that upholds the democratic fabric of our country,” he remarked.
When asked about his future plans, Arora diplomatically stated that he would wait for the election results, scheduled for June 23, before announcing any next steps. “Let the public mandate come; I am hopeful that the positivity and support I received throughout the campaign will reflect in the results as well,” he said.
After the polling, Arora made a brief stop at a nearby AAP party booth to thank the volunteers stationed there. With folded hands, he expressed heartfelt appreciation to the workers who, he said, “worked tirelessly day and night for the party and for me.”
