The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), in line with the zero-tolerance policy against corruption adopted by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government, has arrested dismissed Lady Senior Constable Amandeep Kaur (No. 621/Mansa) of Punjab Police for amassing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.

An official spokesperson of the VB stated that a corruption case was registered against the accused at the VB police station in Bathinda range following an inquiry into complaint number 94/2025. During the investigation, details of her movable and immovable properties acquired between 2018 and 2025 were scrutinized, along with her salary, bank accounts and loan records.

He informed that the probe revealed that Amandeep Kaur had a total income of Rs. 1,08,37,550 during the check period while her expenditure stood at Rs. 1,39,64,802.97 which is Rs. 31,27,252.97 more than her known sources of income, that amounts to 28.85 percent beyond her legitimate earnings.

The spokesperson added that based on these findings, the VB has registered case No. 15 dated 26/05/2025 under Sections 13(1) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act at VB police station Bathinda range. Further investigation in the case is underway.
