NORTH INDIA INDIRA GANDHI KOMPTE GAMES KICKS OFF WITH MASSIVE YOUTH PARTICIPATION

The two-day North India Indira Gandhi Kompte Games in association with Chandigarh Athletics Association kicks off at Sports Complex, Sector 7 on Saturday. The event saw participation from over 400 athletes across various age groups and disciplines which reflect the spirit of youth engagement and promoting a drug-free lifestyle.

In the Under-18 boys’ 200 metres, Bobby clinched gold, followed by Surkhab and Ajay. In the Under-16 boys category, Prashant Lohoriya emerged victorious with Lakshya finishing second.

Among the girls, Manpreet Kaur secured the Under-18 title while Heeral Saini won the Under-16 race. Gusar Kaur bagged the Under-14 girls title and Sanket Singh showcased his prowess by winning both the Under-14 boys 200m and long jump events. Aarya claimed top honours in the Under-14 girls long jump.

In the 3000 metres Under-18 category, Aarav and Harnoor Tomar took top positions in boys and girls events respectively. Jaskirat and Samisha triumphed in the Under-16 long jump events for boys and girls.

Senior officials from the Chandigarh Athletics Association felicitated the winners in the presence of Games Manager Karan Bhardwaj.
