TWO-DAY 'CARRERA DE CICLISTA' CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIP CONCLUDES

Talwinder Randhawa showcased his outstanding form for finishing first with a total time of 2:22:27 to win the title of 75 km elite (above 18 years) category road race on the final day of the two-day Carrera de Ciclista' cycling championship organised by Cyclegarh on Chandigarh-Ludhiana NH stretch on Sunday.

Just behind him were Akshat Sindhu and Varun Jain, who secured second and third places with timings of 2:23:27 and 2:23:36 respectively.In the female Elite division, Anamika Verma dominated the field with a strong and consistent performance, completing the event with a net time of 2:55:24 earning her the top spot.

(SUBHEAD)In the masters (45 plus) category, Aneesh VP claimed first place with a remarkable 2:27:50 finish with Lt Col Gulbag Singh (2:49:03) taking second. In the Female 40+ category, Ruhi Sood secured the top position with an impressive net time of 2:54:22, followed by Dr. Priyanka Mantri at 3:24:21. 

In the Junior Category (15–18 years), Harsimrat Randhawa and Lakeesha Dhiman emerged as the top performers completing both stages with a combined net time of 2:15:39 and 2:18:25. 

Organizer Misha Brar while expressing her satisfaction with the championship said, “the fierce competition, exceptional timings and sheer determination of our cyclists proved that Chandigarh’s talent isn’t just promising but at par with nationals. We’re building a cycling culture that’s ready to take on the national level competitors.”
