CHANDIGARH POLO CLUB EMERGED AS WINNER IN A THRILLING FINALE AT MAGHI MELA

The Chandigarh Polo Club (CPC) clinched a spectacular victory in the third and final round of the exhibition polo match series at the Maghi Mela (Sri Muktsar Sahib) defeating Col Warraich Warriors 4-3 in a nail-biting finish. The three polo exhibition match series was part of the Punjab Horse Show, showcased exceptional sportsmanship and drew an impressive crowd of polo and horse enthusiasts to celebrate the sport’s introduction to Punjab’s Malwa region.

Dilpreet Singh Sidhu led CPC to victory, scoring two crucial goals, while his teammates Jitender Singh and Amaan Warring contributed a goal each. From the opposing side, Col Tarsem Warraich impressed with two goals, and Bhanu Partap Godara added a third to keep the match closely contested.

(SUBHEAD)The event was graced by prominent personalities,including Member of Parliament Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Inspector General Mandeep Singh (IPS), Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Gurdit. and veteran horseman of the region Rahul Sidhu.

CPC's President Dilpreet Singh Sidhu expressed his delight at the success of the series and outlined ambitious plans to elevate the event. “We aim to make the Maghi Mela Polo Matches a key attraction on Punjab’s sporting and tourism calendar,” said Sidhu. He also announced plans to include more national polo clubs and army teams in future editions.

Amaan Warring and Bhanu Partap were honored as the 'emerging players of the series' for their performances, while Gazelle, a standout pony from CPC, was named the best playing pony of the series.
