UT colts bounced back in the game by restricting Delhi 108/4 after being dismissed for mere 162 at the opening day of the Under 16 Vijay Merchant Trophy match being played at Shimoga (Karnataka) on Wednesday.  Earlier, Delhi won the toss and invited Chandigarh to bat first.

City lads had a disappointing start with 24/4 on the board but Arjun Veer Singh and Parth sensed the danger and paired for 61 run partnership to steer the innings to 85. Top scorer Parth (48) was first one go. Later,  Arjun (43) joined him in the pavilion leaving the side at 116/6.

The duo of Dhruv Bindra (5/33) and Nikhil Sangwan (4/66) tamed the tailenders and wrapped up the innings at 162 in 59 overs. In reply, Delhi made a cautious start by without losing a wicket till 64 runs. Despite this start, Ranveer Ahuja successfully ended Chandigarh's struggling day by taking four wickets for the last 33 runs in his nine overs spell. Delhi scored 108/4 with the help of Garv Kumar (65) before the stumps were drawn.
