Tricity based Nitin Rathore will represent India at the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championship, which will be held from October 26 to November 5, 2024 at Rhodes, Greece. The championship is being organized by the World Chess Federation (FIDE), a global governing body for Chess and his representation is approved by All India Chess Federation. Nitin Rathore qualified to represent India at the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championship based on his performance at the National Chess Championship, organized by the Rajasthan Chess Association under the aegis of the All India Chess Federation, from 13-17 February 2024 at Jaipur.

His strong performance placed him among the top players in India, earning him the opportunity to compete on the international stage.

Last year, Nitin also represented India at the FIDE World Amateur Chess Championship held in Muscat, Oman, from November 1 to November 10, 2023. In addition to being a FIDE-appointed arbiter and chess development instructor, Nitin Rathore coaches several national and international players through Chess Mantra Academy. His son, Nityansh Rathore, at just 6 years old, is already following in his father’s footsteps.

Nityansh represented Punjab in the National U7 Championship held in West Bengal last year and has won numerous prizes in the U7 category. The Rathore family’s dedication to chess even earned them a spot on the popular television show “Kaun Banega Crorepati” in Season 9, where they had the opportunity to compete with Amitabh Bachchan.
