UT boys suffered a 122-run defeat against Andhra Pradesh at the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy being played at PCA Stadium, Mohali on Sunday.

After winning the toss, Chandigarh opted to field first which proved fatal for them. The opening pair of Eswar Rithvik and Haneesh Veera Reddy laid a strong foundation for the team by adding 164 runs in the first 25 overs. After the dismissal of Rithvik (100) and Reddy (84), the middle held the fort and steered the innings to 371/5 runs in the stipulated fifty overs.

Unbeaten Anand Josiah scored 61 while Sushant added 53 runs. Yuvraj took two wickets for Chandigarh. In reply, after a shaky start, Chandigarh once struggled at 78/5 runs. Despite two half-centuries in the innings by unbeaten Ehit Salaria (70) and Ritik Sandhu (51) couldn’t bring their team home and were restricted to 249/7. Rudra Patial added 40 runs.
