Ball State graduate Olympic swimmer and Operations Analyst for Wells Fargo Apsara Sakbun was felicitated during the Asian American Alliance “Seat at the Table” hosted by AAAI president Rupal Thanawala last week at the One America Financial, Downtown, here.

Apsara Sakbun realized her dream as she represented Cambodia in the Women's 50m freestyle at 2024 Paris Olympic Games at La Defense Arena. It was her maiden appearance in the Olympic Games.Apsara Sakbun took sixth out of eight swimmers in the event's sixth heat with a time of 26.90, just off her Cambodian national record time of 26.41.

Hoosier (Terre Haute) native Apsara is an accomplished athlete and a successful business leader.
'Seat at The Table' speakers were Ellie Sisler (OneAmerica employee and AAAI board chair who gave welcome remarks) and Tina Booze of OneAmerica.

Answering a question as to how she felt as a swimmer in the Paris Olympics, Aprasa, whose father is from Cambodia and mother from Jamaica, said ” Olympics was always my dream. I got just two months to switch gears after I got a call from Cambodia for my selection for the Paris Summer Olympics. Presence of my family members helped me to maintain my confidence.”
