Inspector Angrej Kumar, SHO, City Jalalabad, while acting against the persons who were allegedly blackmailing the gullible people by ensnaring them in their nets, registered a case under Sections 61(2) of the BNS on the statement of Surinder Kumar Resident of Village Baghe Ke Uttar. Five women, their three male accomplices have been arrested, cash and cheques have been recovered from them.
The suspects were identified as Jotam Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur residents of Gang Canal area, Sunita Kaur resident of Tiddy Arayian, Krishna Rani, Chhindo Bai resident of Chak Malocha Hirewala, Aman, Chak Malocha Hirewala of Angrej Singh, Sukhchain Singh and Gobind Singh of Karniwala. The accused allegedly targeted Surinder Kumar in a honey trap conspiracy and stole a mobile phone from him. He was allegedly forced to pay lakhs of rupees besides bank account cheques.
The said criminals used to blackmail the unsuspecting people by making obscene videos of them in their trap, cops said.
SSP Varinder Singh Brar and DSP Achhru Ram said nefarious gangs will not be allowed to operate.
