The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended an Inspector, Delhi Police, PS- Jyoti Nagar while accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from complainant.
CBI registered a case on complaint on 08/07/2024 against an Inspector of Delhi Police, PS- Jyoti Nagar, New Delhi on allegations that accused demanded bribe of Rs. 5 lakh for settling criminal case registered against two complainants under SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.
After negotiation, accused reduced bribe amount and agreed to accept bribe of Rs. 3 lakh.
CBI laid a trap and caught the said accused red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the complainant.
Searched were conducted at the residential and official premises of the accused. Investigation is continuing.
