After the grand success of the previous edition of Gully Cricket tournament, UT Cricket Association (UTCA) will organize its second edition from July 26. The outline of the tournament was drafted in a meeting held at UTCA office, Sector 16 on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by President Sanjay Tandon who announced that this event will be organised in association with Chandigarh Police. The first match of the tournament will be held from July 26 while the final match will be staged on August 11. Matches will be organized at various places in the city including 16 cricket stadiums wherein boys aged between 14 to 18 years are eligible to participate.

Tandon said that the objective of the tournament is to create interest in sports among the youth and keep them away from evils like drug addiction. Referring to last year's theme of the tournament 'Balla Ghumao Nasha Bhagao', he affirmed that this year also UTCA's effort is to connect boys across the sectors, colonies and villages with cricket. As many as 2800 boys participated in the tournament and made it a successful tournament. Along with deciding the strategy in the meeting, the members were also given responsibilities for the preparations.
