GOVERNOR JOINS EID CELEBRATIONS, ADVOCATES UNITY AND BROTHERHOOD

The spirit of communal harmony and celebration shone brightly at the Eid Milan Samaroh hosted at Hotel Hyatt, Sector 17, Chandigarh. The event, graced by the esteemed presence of the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh as the chief guest, was a testament to the unity and brotherhood among communities.

In his address, the Chief Guest extended heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of 'Eid-ul-Fitr' or 'Eid', emphasizing India's rich tapestry of religions, communities, and castes, and the importance of unity in diversity. He highlighted the significance of festivals in fostering connections among people from different backgrounds, citing 'Eid-ul-Fitr' as a prime example celebrated with devotion and joy across India and the world.

The Chief Guest underscored the spiritual significance of the month of Ramzan for the Muslim community, noting its emphasis on self-purification through fasting and the development of self-control and purity of mind. He emphasized that Eid is a festival of spreading love, compassion, and affection, where Muslims come together to offer prayers and seek forgiveness from Allah for themselves and their loved ones.

Charity, a cornerstone of Eid celebrations, was highlighted as a universal virtue across religions. The importance of giving back to the less fortunate was emphasized, echoing sentiments from Sikhism, Hinduism, and the teachings of the Quran. The Chief Guest stressed the duty of the well-off to support the poor and weak, echoing the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and the ethos of 'service to humanity' as service to God.

The event saw the participation of esteemed figures including Maulana Ashruddin, President of Haryana Imam Sanghatnan, Mohsin Choudhary Chairman of Haryana State Haj Committee, Haryana, and Nusrat Ali Khan, Ex Minister Punjab, among others.
