The police have cracked incidents of robbery and theft with the arrest of five miscreants.
DSP Arun Mundan said that the police arrested two locals Vicky and Suraj Kumar, and registered a case against them under Section 379B of IPC. Police also recovered three mobile phones worth around Rs 70 thousand and one HF Deluxe bike from them. Vicky already has a case of theft registered against him while Suraj Kumar has three cases of theft and robbery registered against him. During interrogation, they admitted that they stole wheat from near Valmiki temple and also tried to steal by breaking the locks of a house in the main bazaar here.
A member of the gang involved in buffalo theft from cattle shed in Indira Nagari, Kala Singh of the same colony was held, his accomplice Inderjit Singh of Balianwali, Bathinda, is yet to be arrested. Police have registered a case against them under Section 392 of IPC.
City-2 police have arrested Anil Dholia, resident of Balaji Colony and Birju of Birma Nagari and recovered two stolen bikes and a numberless Hero Splendor bike from them. A case has been registered against them under Section 379 of IPC.
Anil has 7 cases of robbery already registered.
