In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against drug suppliers. A team of Crime Branch on the direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime and close guidance of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh and under the supervision of Inspector Ashok Kumar nabbed two drug peddlers namely Parveen and Amardeep Singh @ Kala(Dismissed fromPunjab Police from the rank of Senior Constable) and recovered 55 Grams Heroin from Parveen and 16.23 gram heroin recovered from Amardeep Singh @ Kala.
On 1.3.24 police party headed by ASI Hira Singhwas on crime control and prevention patrolling duty in the area of Police Station Sector-39,Chandigarh, while police party was near T point Sector 39-C/D, Chandigarh, on suspicion one person was apprehended who disclosed his name as Parveen and 55 Grams Heroin was recovered from his possession.Subsequently case FIR No. 2 Dt.1.03.2024 U/S 21 NDPS ACT, PS-ANTF, UT Chandigarhwas registered against him.
INVESTIGATION SO FAR.
Accused Parveen disclosed that he purchase the drug from one Kala resident of Ferozepur, Punjab. On 2.3.24 acting upon his disclosure raid was conducted in Ferozepur, where main supplier of drug namely Amardeep Singh @ Kala was arrested and 16.23 grams heroin was recovered from his possession and section 29 of NDPS Act was added.(SUBHEAD)
KNOW THE ACCUSED:
Parveen S/O Omaparkash R/O Back side SheetlaMata Mandir,Vill. Bahlolpur, Distt. Mohali, Punjab. Age-47 yrs,, Amardeep Singh @ Kaka S/o Late Sh. Harvinder Singh R/o # 55, KVM colony, Ferozepur City, Punjab. Amardeep Singh has been dismissed from Punjab Police from the rank of Senior constable after 15 years of service and has tainted past as he has previously been arrested in 3 case of Excise Act in Ferozepur, 1 case of NDPS in Chandigarh and 1 case of NDPS Act in Sirsa Haryana.
Both the accused are in police custody and the further investigation is in progress.The team of Crime Branch working to break the chain of drug smugglers and the arrest of other drug smugglers likely to lead to more recoveries.
