Rs 2.75 crore on account of pending salary and allowances has been released to the employees of Fazilka Cooperative Sugar Mill located in village Bodiwala Pitha. The employees expressed their gratitude to MLA Sandeep Jakhar, who had taken up the matter with the government.
Recently, in a meeting of SUGARFED, Jakhar had discussed in detail the sugarcane policy and the steps to be taken to promote sugarcane production. He said that in the Abohar area, Narma cotton crop fields and Kinnow orchards are getting spoiled and sugarcane can prove to be a good alternative to it.
He said that the employees have been struggling for a long time for the salaries and allowances of 2020-21. Relief should be provided to the employees and their participation should be facilitated in the proposed steps for the development of the mill.
Accepting this, now the outstanding amount of Rs 2.75 crores has been released. The employees expressed gratitude to the MLA.
Jakhar thanked the SUGARFED and the state government for this. He expressed confidence that after increasing the minimum support price of sugarcane by the Central Government, the state and central governments can create a favourable environment to promote sugarcane production under crop diversification. The MLA said that he is making continuous efforts to get the ethanol plant approved by the government.
