In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering citizens and enhancing law enforcement capabilities, Chandigarh Police has unveiled a pioneering mobile application and Investigation Officer Handbook focusing on three new Bharatiya laws.
The mobile app, titled “Learn New Bharatiya Laws,” is a user-friendly platform designed to provide comprehensive information on the latest legal statutes, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), and Bhartiya Sakshaya Adhiniyam, 2023 (BSA). Developed by our dedicated team of Cyber Interns and Hackathon/Cyberthon participants, this innovative tool represents the first of its kind in Chandigarh, offering users easy access to both new and existing laws, along with detailed explanations and key differentiators.
The book was launched by Sh. Rajeev Verma, Advisor to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, during the official launch event held at the U.T. Secretariat Building, Sector09, Chandigarh.Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav Home Secretary Sh. Praveer Ranjan, Director General of Police UT Chandigarh, Sh. Raj Kumar Singh, Inspector General of Police along with 100 Police officials were also present during the occasion.
In his address, Advisor to the Administrator Sh Rajeev Verma highlighted the Chandigarh Police's commitment to safeguarding the rights and safety of residents through the introduction of new criminal laws. He commended the proactive approach of Chandigarh Police in initiating these measures, aimed at enhancing the comfort of frontline officers and ensuring effective law enforcement.
In conjunction with the mobile app release, Chandigarh Police has introduced an Investigation Officer Handbook, a comprehensive resource tailored for law enforcement personnel. This handbook, distributed to all Chandigarh Police officers, serves as a practical guide for implementing the new laws effectively and ensuring procedural adherence in criminal investigations.
To facilitate seamless implementation and understanding of the new laws, Chandigarh Police conducted specialized training sessions for 500 police officers, emphasizing the nuances and implications of the BNS, BNSS, and BSA.
The “Learn New Bharatiya Laws” mobile app is now available for download on the Google Play Store, ensuring accessibility for all members of the public. Chandigarh Police encourages citizens to utilize this valuable resource and contribute to the promotion of legal literacy and compliance.
