(MOREPIC1) Raj Sadosh/Abohar.
Samridhi, a Class X student in the LRS DAV Dr Sec Model School Abohar, is among the 10 girls across the state, who have qualified for the second batch of NDA training. Altogether 1700 girl students had participated in the entrance examination. Of these, only 10 were successful.
Smridhi succeeded in the first attempt itself. The state government would bear the entire cost of the training of the selected candidates, including boarding and lodging, at the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls, SAS Nagar (Mohali). The aim was to further empower women of the state by providing an opportunity to fulfill their dreams to join armed forces as commissioned officers.
This time the number of girl students appearing in the entrance examination had increased by 5 times as compared to the first batch. Not only her school but the entire area is feeling happy at Samridhi's success in such a tough competition.
This daughter of Pramod Kumar, a teacher working at Government High School, Karm Patti, and Madhu Verma, a teacher at Government Primary School, Gobindgarh village, has received her entire education in the DAV School. Under the guidance of NCC Department Head Rajesh Bhateja and Principal Smita Sharma, Samridhi has touched great heights not only as an NCC cadet but also in academic field as a student.
Samridhi recently participated in NCC Thal Sena Camp and got success in challenging competitions, paving the way for NDA training.
