The caretakers/officials of about a hundred temples, gurudwaras, mosques and churches besides organizations like Shri Ramsharnam, Dera Beas, Dera Sacha Sauda, Divya Jyoti Sansthan, Ek Jot Sarv Vyapak, Arya Samaj and Brahma Kumaris gathered on a platform. The program was organized by MLA Sandeep Jakhar. The objective of the program was to promote religious harmony before the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla in Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.
Welcoming the guests, Mayor Vimal Thatai said that the long-awaited day of 22 January holds special significance in the history of India, because on this day a dream is going to be fulfilled.
MLA Sandeep Jakhar said that Punjab, the land of pirs, gurus and fakirs, has definitely been sanctified at some time or the other by the founders of various religions. We should strengthen mutual brotherhood and develop a sense of respect for the saints and scholars of all religions in our minds.
The MLA was joined by the mayor in honoring all the invited guests by presenting them with a shawl each. Raj Sadosh conducted the proceedings of the function.
