A TRAILBLAZING TENURE: SMT. KAMAL SISODIYA CONCLUDES A TRANSFORMATIONAL CHAPTER AS THE FIRST MAHILA COMMANDANT OF 13 BATTALION CRPF

Smt. Kamal Sisodiya has successfully completed an illustrious and inspiring tenure as the first Mahila Commandant of 13 Battalion, CRPF, creating a remarkable legacy of professional excellence, visionary leadership and compassionate service. Her tenure will be remembered as a defining phase in the history of the Battalion, marked by operational efficiency, administrative excellence, infrastructural development and social commitment.

As Commandant of 13 Battalion CRPF, entrusted with the responsibility of providing security to Z+, Z and Y Category Protectees, including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab and other VVIPs, she ensured flawless execution of every operational commitment. Under her command, the Battalion maintained an exemplary record of Zero Operational Error, reflecting the highest standards of professionalism, operational preparedness, vigilance, coordination and discipline.

A firm believer in leading from the front, Smt. Sisodiya transformed the overall functioning of the Battalion through innovative administrative practices, transparent governance and effective resource management. Under her leadership, the Battalion earned prestigious recognitions including Best Administrative Battalion and Best Cost-Effective Battalion, setting new benchmarks in efficiency and organisational excellence.

Being an accomplished sportsperson herself, with numerous medals in Judo, Karate, Athletics, Swimming and other sporting disciplines, she infused a strong sporting culture within the Battalion. Her continuous encouragement, meticulous planning and motivational leadership inspired the personnel to achieve outstanding sporting excellence. As a result, 13 Battalion emerged as one of the finest sporting units and secured the First Runner-Up position in the CRPF Track & Field Championship, a proud achievement for the Battalion.

An exceptional orator and motivational speaker since her school and college days, Smt. Sisodiya effectively utilised her communication skills to inspire CRPF personnel and society alike. Through motivational lectures, counselling sessions and interactive programmes, she worked extensively for stress management, mental health awareness, personality development, women empowerment and youth motivation, positively influencing countless jawans, students and young girls.

Deeply committed to the welfare of troops, she initiated several infrastructure development projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the personnel. Modernisation of barracks, construction and renovation of toilets and bathrooms, improvement of living facilities, development of recreational spaces, establishment of a state-of-the-art gymnasium and wellness facilities significantly enhanced the dignity, comfort and morale of the force.

Her contribution extended far beyond the Battalion campus. She actively worked for the upliftment of Divyangjan, acid attack survivors, women, self-help groups and economically weaker sections through skill development initiatives, vocational training, awareness campaigns and community outreach programmes. She regularly interacted with these sections of society, celebrated special occasions including birthdays with Divyang children and consistently promoted the values of inclusion, compassion and social responsibility.

During her tenure, she received widespread appreciation from several distinguished personalities and institutions. She was honoured with prestigious recognitions including the Women Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, Iron Lady Award, Women Achiever Award and the Mahila Udyami Award for her exemplary contribution towards women empowerment, skill development and nation-building. She was also nominated for the Nari Shakti Puraskar. Her initiatives were appreciated by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab and several eminent dignitaries.
