ATTEMPT TO IMPLICATE PSPCL JE IN “DRUG CASE” TAKES A NEW TURN, JBD DSP ALSO NAMED

Raj Sadosh/Abohar.

Amit Kumar J.E. PSPCL on July 13 said in a statement at Police Station Arniwala that on June 3, while going in his car from Mandi Roranwali to Arniwala for duty, he stopped near a tap installed on the bank of a canal to fill water in the water-cooler kept in his car. Suddenly three unknown persons arrived in a Swift car and introduced themselves as police officials. They began questioning him and started searching his vehicle. From beneath the seat of his car, they reportedly “recovered” a packet. He had no knowledge about this packet.

Meanwhile, people from the surrounding area started gathering there, and DSP Jalalabad was called to the spot. The DSP questioned him, and due to the large crowd and because the matter appeared suspicious, he was taken along with the “recovered” packet to CIA Center Fazilka. There, when other police officials checked the packet, no narcotic substance was found in it, due to which he was released from the spot.

Upon investigation in this matter, it was found that on the night of 2 June, Sukhjinder Singh Shammi, resident of Chak Arora Wala alias Tambu Wala, Sagar, and Rajan Kumar alias Nannu of Mandi Roranwali, in conspiracy, had allegedly “placed” a packet wrapped with brown tape under the seat of his car, and a conspiracy was hatched to falsely implicate him in a case under the NDPS Act.

Official sources said that on the basis of the complainant’s statement, FIR under offences 212, 61(2) of the BNS and 58(2) of the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Arniwala on July 13 against Sukhjinder Singh Shammi, Sagar, and Rajan Kumar Nannu.

During the investigation of the case, the accused were produced before the court. The accused gave statements that Gursewak Singh, DSP, Sub-Division Jalalabad, was also involved in this incident. On July 15, in accordance with the orders of the Court, Gursewak Singh, DSP Jalalabad, was also named in the case. Further investigation is ongoing.
