The Fazilka district team has clinched the gold medal at the ‘Khedan Watan Punjab’ Season 4 State Level Open Archery Under-14 Championship, securing the top position. This outstanding victory was propelled by the exceptional talent of three young archers from Dangar Khera village and one from Fazilka.

The winning team comprised Uday Pratap Singh Khaira, Abhay Pratap Singh Khaira, and Hiren Chaudhary from Dangar Khera, alongside Kevis Kamboj from Fazilka.

In the individual events, Abhay Pratap Singh Khaira won a gold medal, while Uday Pratap Singh Khaira secured a silver medal. Hiren Chaudhary finished in fourth place.

Coach Ravi Kumar, who mentors the Dangar Khera trio, credited their success to their unwavering hard work, dedication, and discipline. He highlighted that all three have been training under his guidance for an extended period. This achievement follows their bronze medal win at last year’s state-level competition, indicating consistent progress.

He expressed optimism that with continued effort, these archers have the potential to compete at national and international levels. He also noted that the presence of a village playground would further aid in nurturing future talent.

Gold Medalist Abhay Pratap Singh Khaira and silver Medalist Uday Pratap Singh Khaira are sons of Jagmeet Singh Khaira, while Hiren Chaudhary is the son of Brahma Prakash Chaudhary. The players received congratulations from their parents and school principal, who wished them a bright future. This triumph is particularly significant for Dangar Khera, as the village alacks a large playground.
