Digital technology has rapidly changed the face of journalism. It’s necessary for journalists to maintain values, responsibility and human approach. These views were expressed at the media seminar organized at Brahma Kumaris Khamgaon. The theme of the conference was “Digital technology: Challenges, opportunities and new direction of journalism”.

A welcome dance “Ye Angan Ye Dware” marked the beginning. BK. Shakuntala Didi welcomed the participants.

BK Shantanu Bhai, National Coordinator, Media Wing said that “Speaking the problem does not lead to a solution, solution-oriented journalism is necessary. Gandhiji had said that journalism is service. A few days can go on without the police administration, but not even a day is possible without a newspaper.”

(SUBHEAD)Dainik Deshonnati regional editor Rajesh Rajore said: “Maintaining accuracy and responsibility along with providing news at a fast pace in the digital age is the biggest challenge. Along with technology, self-examination and ethics are also necessary.”

Ranjit Singh Rajput, District President, All India Marathi Patrakar Sangh, said that the work of journalism is to give direction to the society and protect the freedom of expression. He said that those who do true journalism should be protected. Positive journalism is disappearing in the race of breaking news, it has to be saved.

Arun Jain (Dainik Sakal), Anil Gawai (Lokmat), Sandeep Wankhede (Pudhari News), Rajendra Kale (Deshonnati) said that friendship between Brahma Kumaris and journalism is significant. BK Rukmini Didi (Director, Akola Seva Kendra), BK Sushma Didi, Prof. Gopal Rakhonde also addressed.
