A team of officials of Police Station, Sector-34, Chandigarh headed by Insp. Satinder, SHO/PS-34 and I/C PP-Burail alongwith the team of Police Station Sector 34 got major success by arresting accused Mohd. Hazrat S/o Mohd. Saddiqqi R/o Mundi kharar Distt-Mohali (Punjab), Profession-Unemployed, Age-32 years and Sangam S/o Rajesh Kumar R/o House No. 461 Village-Kajheri, Sector-52, Chandigarh Profession-Unemployed, Age-29 years in FIR No. 124 dated 07.08.2025 U/S 316(2), 318(4), 3(5) Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, PS-34, Chandigarh.
Police said, FIR was registered on the complaint of Ashish Kumar S/o Somnath R/o Address House No. 229 New Generation Apartment Dhokali, Zirakpur (Punjab), in which, he has stated that he is working in accounts at M/S Shanaya Services, Kharar (Pb).
On 31.07.2025, Mohd. Hazrat to whom he had met earlier one/two days, who told him that he had some American Dollars. He said if you want, he can sell him 4,000 American Dollars at a half of the rate. He agreed for this and Mohd. Hazrat called him at Village-Burail, Sector-45. Chandigarh. He reached there alongwith Rs. 1.70 lac (Rupees One Lac Seventy Thousand).
As per discussion, Mohd. Hazrat reached at the given point alongwith three to four of his friends and shown him two bundles of currency notes (20 Dollars per bundle) in asmall bag. After that he left for there for a short while and again returned back after two minutes. He gave Rs. 1.70 (Rupees One Lac Seventy Thousand to Mohd. Hazrat and he handed the small bag to him.
Later on, when he opened the bag, it was empty. Mohd. Hazrat and his friends neither given him the Dollars nor returned back his money. During investigation, on the identification of complainant, both the accused Mohd. Hazrat & Sangam were arrested on 07.08.2025. The further investigation is still going on and both the accused sen to judicial custody.
