Hundreds of people, at a largely attended congregation held at Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Shaheed in Sriganganagar, paid tributes to Naik Pritpal Singh and Sepoy Harminder Singh, who were killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam.

Chief Sewadar Tejinderpal Singh Timma also launched a scathing attack on the Central Government and said that not giving state honors to former Governor Satyapal Malik who raised the voice of truth is extremely shameful.

(SUBHEAD)Timma stressed that Malik always stood up and raised his voice for the rights of farmers, laborers, traders and the general public, and even while holding a high constitutional post in the country, he did not abandon the truth.

He gave a call to Sikh community to do their best on environmental protection and social reforms. He said that everyone should plant as many trees as possible so that the environment remains balanced. Also, a strong campaign should be run at the village level against drug abuse. Timma said that only a drug-free society can build a healthy and strong country and the community should play a leading role in this direction.
