DELHI VIGILANCE UNIT NABS HEAD CONSTABLE FOR TAKING 15 THOUSAND BRIBE

Continuing its drive against corruption within the Delhi Police, the Vigilance Unit, Barakhamba Road, has arrested Head Constable Vijay Singh, posted at PS Bindapur, while he was accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 at the Market Complex, near Police Booth, Dwarka Mor, Bindapur.

The complainant, a resident of Rama Park, Mohan Garden, Delhi, approached the Vigilance Branch, Barakhamba Road, and submitted a complaint stating that he runs a wellness product sales business, with an office located in Dwarka. According to the complainant, HC Vijay Singh visited his office and informed him that there was a complaint against him. He then demanded ₹15,000 per month. Under pressure and threats from HC Vijay Singh, the complainant paid ₹15,000. Later, HC Vijay Singh further demanded an additional ₹30,000, claiming it as pending dues for two months.

Aggrieved by the continuous demand for money, the complainant approached the Vigilance Unit. Upon receipt of the complaint, a team was formed under the supervision of the DCP, Vigilance. The complaint was recorded, and a trap was laid on 08.08.2025 at the market complex near the Police Booth, Dwarka Mor, Delhi. During the operation, HC Vijay Singh accepted the tainted bribe amount of ₹15,000, which was immediately recovered by the Vigilance team.

A case FIR No. 16/2025 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, dt. 09.08.2025, PS Vigilance has been registered in the matter. HC Vijay Singh was produced before the Special Judge, Rouse Avenue Court, and has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
