PATRIOTIC FERVOUR MARKS 'NRITYANJALI' CULTURAL EVENING AT PUNJAB RAJ BHAVAN ON THE EVE OF INDEPENDENCE DAY

On the eve of India’s 79th Independence Day, Punjab Raj Bhavan resonated with the vibrant spirit of patriotism and cultural pride as ‘Nrityanjali’ – A Cultural Presentation was organized, showcasing the rich tapestry of India’s classical and folk traditions.

Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, accompanied by his wife Smt. Anita Kataria.inspiring the gathering with his presence and appreciation for the performers who brought alive the essence of unity in diversity through their art.

The evening began on an emotional note with a musical presentation by artists from Chandigarh Spinal Rehab, symbolizing resilience and national pride. Their soulful rendition struck a chord with the audience, setting the tone for an evening of celebration and reverence.

This was followed by ‘Bharat Desh Mahan Hai’, a vibrant choreography performed by all artists, beautifully portraying the grandeur and spirit of the nation. The presentation was a tribute to the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the glory of a free India.

The programme featured mesmerizing classical dance performances, soulful Kathak performance , Adding colourful touch to the evening were the folk dances the joyful Phag and energetic Giddha and the ever-electrifying Bhangra performance by artists from Punjab, which had the audience enthralled and filled with patriotic fervour.

The grand finale, performed by all participating artists, was a powerful culmination of art, unity, and patriotic emotion — leaving the audience in awe and evoking a sense of national pride.This entire presentation was organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and was choreographed by Shri Furqan Khan, Director, NZCC.

The event was dignified by the presence of distinguished guests including Cabinet Minister Sh.Gurmeet Singh khudian ,Ms. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Chandigarh;, Shri Vivek Pratap Singh, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Punjab; Shri Diprava Lakra, Finance Secretary, Dr.Sagar Preet Hooda , Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sh. Amit Kumar ,Sh.Shri Sanjay Tandon, President UTCA; and other senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration.
