JGND PSOU ORGANISES STATE-LEVEL SKILL-ORIENTED SENSITISATION WORKSHOP

In compliance with directions of Mrs. Anindita Mitra (IAS), Administrative Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Government of Punjab, and under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala, a State-Level Sensitisation Workshop was organised in collaboration with SCERT, Department of School Education, Punjab. Ms. Kiran Sharma (PCS), Director, SCERT, and Dr. Shruti Shukla, Assistant Director (G&C), SCERT, Department of School Education, Punjab, were present during the program.

(MOREPIC1) Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, while addressing the delegates from various districts of Punjab, emphasized on the importance of skill-based education. “Inorder to improve work culture and individual efficacy, practices in solving problems and enhancing skills are need of the hour,” he said. “The courses at JGND PSOU significantly increase employment opportunities for learners,” said Prof Rattan Singh.

Ms. Kiran Sharma (PCS), Director, SCERT, highlighted that integrating skill development into the education system is the need of the hour. Prof. (Dr.) Baljit Singh Khaira, Registrar, JGND PSOU, shared the vision and mission of the University. Dr. Karan Sukhija, Head, Planning Cell gave a detailed presentation on the theme of the programme.

More than 250 Principals (DIETs), District Guidance Counsellors, and District Resource Coordinators from various districts of Punjab actively participated in the workshop.
