The Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) organized a bicycle rally to spread public awareness on the importance of cleanliness as part of its ongoing 15-day SwachhtaPakhwada (September 17 to October 2, 2025). The rally was flagged off from the BBMB Officer Rest House, Sector 35, Chandigarh, by BBMB Chairman Sh. Manoj Tripathi.

The event began with a warm-up session conducted by professional fitness trainers, after which the participants cycled from BBMB Officer Rest House to Sukhna Lake and back. To keep the spirit high, fun competitions and refreshments were arranged at Sukhna Lake.

Chairman Sh. Manoj Tripathi emphasized that cleanliness is a collective social responsibility. He urged everyone to not only maintain cleanliness in their homes but also in public spaces, thereby setting an example for society. He also appreciated the various initiatives being undertaken by BBMB, describing them as a reflection of the organization’s social commitment and its contribution towards nation-building under Swachh Bharat Mission.

Senior BBMB officials, employees, and their families participated in the rally. Carrying posters and banners with inspiring slogans, participants urged citizens to maintain cleanliness and support this cause.

During this fortnight, BBMB has planned a series of activities including cleanliness drives, awareness campaigns through social media, tree plantation programs, and cleanliness-themed workshops for employees. These efforts aim not only at keeping workplaces clean and green but also at fostering a positive mindset towards cleanliness in society.
