The Fair was officially inaugurated by Shri Sanjeev Arora, Hon’ble Minister of Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, NRI Affairs & Power, Government of Punjab, who was joined by distinguished dignitaries including Mr Vivek Verma, Vice Chairman, CII Chandigarh and Managing Director, Spray Engineering Devices Ltd; Mr Amit Thapar, Past Chairman, CII Punjab and President, Ganga Acrowools Limited; Ms Ritika Singh, Chairperson, Indian Women Network (IWN) Chandigarh and CEO, Kontent Factory and Ms Sakshi Katyal, Co-Chairperson, IWN Chandigarh and Founder, Jade Xclusive.

Speaking at the inauguration, Hon’ble Minister Shri Sanjeev Arora said:
“The CII Chandigarh Consumer Fair is really very nicely organised and well attended by States from all over India. I extend my congratulations to the entire CII team. It is the 28th Edition that CII is hosting at the same place and venue and I have also urged CII to consider organizing similar fairs across other cities in Punjab.”

This year’s Fair is themed around Sustainability, with focused campaigns including ‘Plastic-Free City’ and ‘Make Chandigarh Honk-Free’, aligning with the city’s broader environmental goals. In support of this theme, members of Indian Women Network (IWN) presented sapling to the Minister as a symbol of green commitment.

The Minister also visited several exhibition stalls, commending the rich diversity of products and the spirit of innovation on display—testament to the region’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem. During the visit, SEBI expressed to the Hon’ble Minister its interest in establishing a full-fledged office in the Tricity area in the near future.
