UT ADMINISTRATIONS ALLOWED ONLY SALE AND USE GREEN CRACKERS

Chandigarh Administration has allowed the sale and use of only green firecrackers certified by CSIR-NEERI strictly as per the directions of Hon'ble Supreme Court and N.G.T.

The sale shall only be through licensed traders and it shall be ensured that these licensed traders are selling those fire crackers which are permitted by this order.

No E-commerce website, including Flipkart, Amazon etc. shall accept any online order and effect online sales of fire crackers within the Jurisdiction of U.T. Chandigarh.The fireworks are not burst in silence zones, that is, an area at least 100m away from hospitals, nursing homes, primary and districi health-care centers, educational institutions, courts, religious places or any other area that may be declared as a silence zone by the authorities.

Any violation of aforementioned orders shall invite immediate penal action under Section 223 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 along with other relevant acts such as Disaster Management Act, 2005, Environment Protection Act, 1986, Explosive Act, 1988 etc.
