The serene surroundings of the IIT Mandi campus came alive with the spirit of sportsmanship as Mind Tree IIT Mandi Campus School, Kamand, successfully organized its First Inter-School Cricket Tournament from October 27 to 29. The three-day event witnessed enthusiastic participation from seven schools across the Mandi district.
(MOREPIC1)The tournament concluded on October 29 with an electrifying final between R.K. International School, Nabahi, and Mahavir Public School, Sundernagar. In a closely fought contest showcasing exceptional talent and teamwork, Mahavir Public School, Sundernagar, emerged victorious, claiming the championship title. R.K. International School, Nabahi, finished as the deserving runner-up.
During the post-match presentation ceremony, outstanding individual performances were recognized. Rajveer Singh Thakur of Mahavir Public School was named Man of the Match for his remarkable performance in the final, while Shubham Thakur from R.K. International School earned the title of Man of the Series for his consistent excellence throughout the tournament.
(SUBHEAD)Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director of the Mind Tree Group of Schools, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and presented trophies and medals to the winning teams and players.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Mrs. Rakhi Thakur emphasized the importance of the event, noting that it marked the first major initiative under the newly formed Him Prabha Sahodaya School Complex. She expressed optimism about the future, stating that the complex aims to foster greater collaboration among schools and expand such initiatives to the state level in the coming years.
The tournament not only celebrated athletic excellence but also strengthened the bonds of camaraderie and healthy competition among young learners in the region.
