In an event organized by the Indian Red Cross Society and the Karan Gilhotra Foundation at Fazilka to eradicate drug abuse, the Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, participated online and delivered a message urging the children present to join the campaign against drugs.

(MOREPIC1)   Shivdular Singh Dhillon (Retd. IAS), Secretary, Red Cross Society; Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, SSP Gurmeet Singh and Karan Gilhotra expressed their gratitude to the Governor.

Due to adverse weather conditions and certain technical reasons, the helicopter could not operate and the Governor joined the event online.

The Governor stated that to eradicate drugs from their roots, collective cooperation of the people is essential, and only through united efforts can this social evil be effectively tackled. He called upon everyone to fulfill the dreams envisioned by our great patriots and to make the country drug-free and vibrant.

An anti-drug march was organized from Sanjeev Palace to Ghanta Ghar Chowk, which was led by DC Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu and Karan Gilhotra. They sensitized the youth against drug abuse and motivated people from all sections of society to extend their support to the anti-drug campaign. Thereafter, tributes were paid to the great martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation at the Asafwala Martyrs’ Memorial.
