CBI BOOKED NINE OFFICIALS OF PGIMR, OTHERS ON EMBAZZELEMENT AND MISAPPROPRIATION OF PUBLIC FUND OF RS. 1.14 CRORE

CBI reported to have registered case against the officials of private grant Cell of PGIMR for embazzelement and misapproriation of public fund of Rs. 1.14 Crores on Thursday. The case was registered on the complaint by Sh. Mukul, Inspector, CBI, ACB, Chandigarh on dated 17.12.2025.

The accused identified namely Dharam Chand, Jr. Administrative Asstt.(superannuation on 31-12-2020), Sunil Kumar, MRC(Contractual), Pradeep Singh, LDC (Contractual), Chetan Gupta, LDC (Contractual), Mrs. Neha, Employed in the PGIMER, Chandigarh as Hospital Attendant (Contractual), Gaganpreet Singh, DEO, Durlabh Kumar, Owner of Photocopy Shop, Sahil Sood, Partner of Mr. Durlabh Kumar and Other unknown public and private person.

The role of private firms/companies namely M/s HLL Lifecare Ltd., M/s R. Kumar Medicos, M/s Kumar & Company and M/s Maruti Medicos under scanner during the course of investigation. A Regular Case is therefore registered under section 120-B, r/w 406, 409, 420, 471 of IPC and 13(1)(a) r/w section 13(2) of PC Act (Amended in 2018) and substantive offences thereof, against the above named accused persons. The investigation was entrusted to Sh. Ankush Sharma, Inspector, CBI, ACB, Chandigarh.

Cas was  registered on the basis of a complaint receiwd from the Chief Vigilance Officer, PGI\IER, Chandigarh. alleging large-scale misappropriation and embezzlemem of public funds amounting to to Rs. 1.14 crore , which meant for poor and needy patients. It was alleged that the said amount was fraudulently siphoned off to banks accounts for accumulation of disproportionate assets b abusing official position while working as public servants.
