REGIONAL OUTREACH BUREAU ORGANIZES YOGA SESSION AT GOVT COLLEGE OF YOGA EDUCATION AND HEALTH

With 39 days left for International Yoga Day 2022, Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Today organized a Yoga Sessionat Chandigarh-based Government College of Yoga Education and Health. The session was organised as part of a series of programs dedicated to 'Yoga Utsav 2022’.

Welcoming the participants, Principal of the college Dr. Sapna Nanda appealed to participants to target at least 100 people for creating awareness on Yoga. 

Director, AYUSH Department, Chandigarh Administration, Mr. Akhil Kumar attended the function as the chief guest. He urged everyone to take time out of their busy schedules to connect with Yoga and also to make everyone in the family and society aware about it. Shri Vivek Vaibhav, Director, ROB, discussed the importance of Yoga practice in detail linking it to the epidemic like COVID. 

At the beginning of the session, a lamp was lit with the chant of Indian-Sanatan-Vedic-Culture. On this occasion, Director (M&C) Mr. Pavitar Singh, Deputy Director (M&C) Mr. Hitesh Rawat and other staff members from Press Information Bureau, Chandigarhand Ms. Sapna, Deputy Director, Assistant Director Mr. Baljit Singh, Field Publicity Assistant (FPA) Mr. Balwant Singh and other employees from ROB, Chandigarh also participated in the session. 

Interesting questions on Yoga awareness and Ayurveda were asked and prizes were given to the winners. More than 100 participants including the employees of Yoga College, Department of AYUSH and part time yoga instructors attended the event. Prabhakar, a yoga demonstrator, impressed and surprised everyone by performing unique, interesting and difficult yoga asanas with music.
