The Postgraduate Department of Economics at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College, Chandigarh hosted the 16th edition of its annual event ‘Econoverse'- a national level Inter-College Economics Fest. Prof. Suman Makkar, Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest for the event.
She highlighted the significance of organising such events as she explained how important it is for the youth to participate in such events for their intellectual growth, personality development, enhancing of communication skills and building up of confidence. Over 12 colleges participated in the fest that comprised of seven competitions which included Quiz-a-Biz, Ecoexpress, Wordoganza, Economics Antakshri, Sounds of Economics, Brain Teaser and Poster making.(SUBHEAD)
The participants vigorously strived to lift the trophy of each of these mentally stimulating events. The audience thoroughly enjoyed activities related to the discipline such as Eye-conomics, economics dumb charades and economic riddles. The event culminated with the prize distribution ceremony wherein winners of all the events were felicitated with trophies and certificates.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded the efforts made by the Economics department for organising an event of such grandeur and wished the department success in its future pursuits as well. She expressed her heartfelt connection with the subject of Economics and encouraged students to participate in competitions for their holistic development.
