THREE KM INDEPENDENCE DAY RUN ORGANISED

International Master Athlete splinter Pushpinder Jit Singh Brar (a celebrity achiever in 100 meter and long jump events and Punjab Police personnel Lakhwinder Singh, who had won a silver medal in javelin throw event in the World Masters Athletics Championship last month in Finland also participated in the 3-km Independence Day run.

They appreciated the initiatives taken by the non-govt organisations to keep youth away from drugs by engaging them in sports activities.

As part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the event was organised by the United Forum of Athletes’ Associations.

The run was led by MLA Sandeep Jakhar who also completed it carrying the tricolor. Sandeep Jakhar said that we have got this freedom and health with great effort. We should make every effort to handle both. The run started from Abha Square and the participants dispersed after returning at the same place.Jakhar motivated the participants to practice sports each day for physical fitness and distancing from drugs.
