The birth anniversary of Vinoba Bhave, organizer of the Bhoodan Movement and the first Satyagrahi of the 'Quit India Movement' launched by the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, was celebrated at the Sadiqi post of the Indo-Pak border.

Border Area Development Front chief Liladhar Sharma, informed that after the Retreat Ceremony, the national level 'Melody Queen” Anjali Dwivedi of Bareilly sang patriotic songs to which the audience responded by raising Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogans.

He said that even after the independence of the country, Vinoba Bhave took the initiative of Bhoodan Yagya in 1951 and while traveling across the country, distributed 70 lakh hectares of donated land to the landless people and gave them the status of farmers. Former minister Late Ch. Radha Krishan also donated the land. Vinoba Bhave agitated to stop cow slaughter. In this program, apart from retired SDM BL Sikka, BSF officers and jawans also paid floral tributes to Vinoba Bhave. On the other side of the border, Pakistanis were listening to the songs of Anjali Dwivedi.
