FOUR GAMBLERS BETTING ON CRICKET MATCH BUSTED, CASH AND ELECTROINIC GADGETS RECOVERED

The AATS team of South East District has arrested four gamblers Bharat Khatri @ Montu, Divij @ Hunny, Upendra and Bhuvnesh. With their arrest, cash of Rs 38920/-, 02 laptops, 08 mobile phones, 02 LEDs, 01 calculator, 01 spiral notebook and 01 briefcase containing mobile chargers have been recovered from their possession.

As per the directions of senior officers regarding zero tolerance against organized crimes in the area of Southeast District, sincere efforts are being made to curb gambling. A dedicated team comprising SI Nagendra Kumar, ASI Dheer Singh, ASI Inderjeet, ASI Rajiv Kumar, HC Manoj, HC Amrit, HC Mohit, Ct Debananda and Ct. Mohit led by Insp. Rajender Dagar I/C AATS/SED under the supervision of Sh. Satpal Panwar ACP/Ops. was constituted to nab the criminals.

On 30.10.2022, the team received a secret piece of information that a group of persons was gambling at a house in East of Kailash, Delhi. Responding to the secret tip, the team raided at the said location under the directions of senior officials and arrested four persons who were staking money on cricket match between India and South Africa.(SUBHEAD)

On enquiry, they were identified as Bharat Khatri@ Montu s/o Gurdayal R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 34 yrs, Divij @ Hunny s/o Dalip R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 29 yrs, Upendra s/o Jagannath R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 38 yrs and Bhuvnesh s/o Dilip R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 32 yrs. Accordingly, a case FIR No 569/22 u/s 04/06 Gambling Act was registered at PS Amar Colony. With their arrest, cash of Rs 38920/-, 02 laptops, 08 mobile phones, 02 LEDs, 01 calculator, 01 spiral notebook and 01 briefcase containing mobile chargers have been recovered from their possession. Further investigation of the case is under progress.

INTERROGATION: Esha Pandey, IPIS, DCP, said, on sustained interrogation, all the accused persons disclosed that they do not have a permanent job or other means to earn their livelihood. They are addicted to alcohol and drugs. In order to earn quick money, they started staking money on cricket matches in ongoing Cricket World Cup.
 
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:Accused Bharat Khatri@ Montu s/o Gurdayal R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 34 yrs has studied up to 11th class. He has no work to do to earn his livelihood. No previous involvement has been found against him.

Divij @ Hunny s/o Dalip R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 29 yrs ahs studied up to 10th class. He has no work to do to earn his livelihood. No previous involvement has been found against him.

Upendra s/o Jagannath R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 38 yrs has studied up to 7th class. He has no work to do to earn his livelihood. No previous involvement has been found against him.

Accused Bhuvnesh s/o Dilip R/o Faridabad, Haryana age 32 yrs has studied up to 12th class. He has nothing to do earn his livelihood. No previous involvement has been found against him.
